Ladies, if this is you, you’re not alone. Far too many women these days have to plan their lives around their monthly cycles due to extreme pain, heavy flow, and other life-disrupting symptoms. This is NOT the way it’s supposed to be! 🙏🏼

Our periods are one of the BEST windows we have into how our bodies are really doing on a deeper level. Severe PMS, pain, and other reproductive imbalances offer us a sign that our bodies are crying out for support.

This may mean nutritional deficiencies, blood sugar and mineral imbalances, adrenal and hormonal imbalances, chronic infections, inflammation, stress, trauma, environmental toxicity, nervous system dysregulation, and more. The approach will always be bio-individual, but over the coming weeks and months I’ll be diving more into all of these things.

One of the most sacred parts of being a woman is the empowerment that comes with deeper knowledge of our monthly cycles. Lean into it. And remember that your period is more than a monthly burden—it’s a monthly invitation to tune into, nourish, and support your body in it’s beautiful design ❤️

We MUST do better. Instead of dismissing young wom

We MUST do better. Instead of dismissing young women, let’s start teaching them how to listen to and care for their bodies when they begin to speak up that something’s wrong.

This topics hits home for me. I think of myself and so many other women out there who start having symptoms like these in their high school and college years. They seek help, and right then and there would be a HUGE opportunity to begin to teach them how their bodies actually work, what their symptoms mean, and how to care for and deeply nourish themselves as they mature and grow into womanhood.

Instead, they are dismissed as exaggerating. Told it's in their heads. That nothing is wrong and that their symptoms are normal. The body's first whispers are ignored, and they continue to grind through life and their young adult years always pushing through, never truly resting, surviving on caffeine, lacking in nutrients, and not caring well for their bodies—until they completely break.

This is me, but this is SO MANY women today. I wonder often where I’d be now if I hadn't been so dismissed and ill-equipped early on in my journey, and if I had been given way back then the education and tools I have now.

That's why I'm so passionate about spreading the word. These symptoms are your body’s means of telling you it needs support and nourishment. Let’s learn to listen to them!

Healing is really, REALLY hard. I don’t want that to go unseen here. I’ve got a long way to go, and I want the hard to be here in the room, too.

Sometimes healing feels like a few steps forward followed by a million steps back. It feels like doing all the right things and still struggling to walk up the stairs some days. It looks like people thinking the outsides look great and having no clue about the wars being fought on the inside. It looks like life growing much simpler and much more complicated all at once.

The healing is even harder when hardly anyone understands the journey (at best) and when plenty of people are quick to dismiss, disqualify, or disbelieve the journey (at worst).

They haven’t experienced the years of pain, failed answers, dead ends. Everything about life as you knew it changing. The hopes and dreams delayed. They also haven’t seen the hours upon hours upon hours of time you’ve spent learning how to heal yourself.

Deep healing requires many leaps of faith. It requires drowning out the noise and deciding to let go of what people think of you. That one deserves to be repeated.

Deciding to let go of what people think of you.

That one took me a while, and I’m still working on it. But it’ll be worth it.

To heal you’ve got to choose to show up for your body every single day and give it what it needs—rest, safety, nourishment, care. And you’ve got to lean on nothing but the strength of the One who knit it together. Whether fully healed or not—it is well.

It is well.

Believe it or not, these things have been around for a longgg time, a whole lot longer than conventional approaches.

Our society has grown out of touch with how the body works on a fundamental level and with healing tools that have been around for centuries. That’s why I’m passionate about reminding you of them.

When you really think about it, it’s kind of crazy how the foods and herbs God provided since the dawn of time have been pushed aside as “alternative, dangerous, ineffective…”

What makes an NTP unique?👇🏼

Some of you may be wondering what exactly an NTP is and what we do, so I thought I’d summarize some key aspects of our work:

🌱 Holsitic: An NTP is trained to view the body as one holistic, interconnected system rather than isolated organs and organ systems. When you’re experiencing symptoms in one area, we will always approach your concerns in light of the whole body.

🌱 Supportive: Our aim isn’t to silence or suppress your symptoms, but rather to study them to help identify the deeper root causes of the imbalances you’re experiencing, and ultimately to support them.

🌱 Nourishment: We don’t diagnose or treat medical conditions. Rather, we seek to help you bring your body into balance by going back to the foundations of nourishment and incorporating nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations.

🌱 Education: Our education goes beyond just nutrition and dives into the study of physiology. This includes digestion, blood sugar regulation, metabolism, mineral and
fatty acid balance, detoxification, the endocrine system, the immune system, cardiovascular health, and more.

🌱 Bio-Individual: No two bodies or stories are the same, so no two healing journeys should look the same either. We will always take a bio-individual approach to determine what foundational changes would best serve your unique body.

🌱 Partnership: Many of my colleagues and I ended up in this profession after complicated paths to healing our own chronic symptoms. We know what it’s like to be seeking answers, and we will listen to you, believe you, and support you as best we can. You know your body best! 🤍

Time for a new adventure 🌱

Last year in the midst of a very difficult season, I did a crazy thing and went back to school. I’ll graduate this July as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP)!

The most defining experience of my life has been battling serious chronic illnesses, and while I’ve hoped and prayed that chapter would be long over by now, it has stuck around. And it’s nearing a decade since my health started to go downhill.

But over the last few years, that journey has shifted from one of:

▫️doctor hopping & dismissal
▫️”you’ll have to live with this forever”
▫️”there’s nothing else we can do”
▫️hopelessness

to one of:

🔅God graciously opening my eyes to the deeper root causes of chronic disease
🔅taking my health into my own hands and out of the hands of the flawed medical system
🔅hope that full healing is possible

Let me tell you, it has been HARD and humbling work that has shattered so many hopes and expectations I had for my life by this point, and there’s still a long way to go. But God has made it clear that I’ve gone through this for a reason, because it’s time to share what I’ve learned.

I can’t wait to educate others about God’s incredible design of human physiology, how to heal on a foundational level, and anything and everything in between. If you know anyone at all with an open mind who is stuck on a health journey or who’d like to learn, tag them here or send them my way!
